Golden Triangle/UTC
Situated 10 miles north of downtown San Diego is University City, an area comprised of mostly residential homes. The area earned its named for its close proximity to the University of California, San Diego.
University City is located along the south side of the celebrated “Golden Triangle,” an area created by the junctions of Interstates 5, 805, and Highway 52. The name “Golden Triangle” appropriately describes the area’s high-rise buildings with high-tech occupants, medical research and educational facilities, plus the giant, upscale shopping mall of University Towne Center. Because of its proximity to the University Town Center, the area is commonly referred to as Golden Triangle/UTC.
